This course will explain the role of anger and suppressed anger in mental health, specifically based on the latest research on alexithymia. It will also introduce a new clinical modality which helps clients integrate anger, fostering self-attachment and bring resolution to trauma. Clinicians will have a fuller understanding of the role of anger and suppressed anger in the mental health of their clients. Upon completing this course, participants will be able to identify primary emotions that fuel anger and explain their underlying significance in clinical practice; demonstrate strategies for helping clients develop a healthier relationship with anger and shame through therapeutic interventions; and describe how self-attachment promotes trauma resolution.
