SVC-CAMFT's Response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Ensuring the safety and security of our members, partners and attendees is of the highest importance to SVC-CAMFT, therefore we are   canceling all in person events.  We will work to reschedule canceled events or provide them in an online format. SVC-CAMFT will continue to   monitor all Coronavirus developments, news and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and   Prevention (CDC), California   Department of Public Health and Sacramento County Public Health.

We now have a resource page for mental health professionals located below. This is a rapidly evolving situation so we will continue to     monitor   updates and respond accordingly. Thank you for your understanding in this   matter. Be safe and be well.

Sincerely,  SVC-CAMFT Board

Helpful Resources During COVID-19 CAMFT

KEEPING YOURSELF, YOUR STAFF, AND CLIENTS SAFE – WHAT ABOUT TELEHEALTH?

  • If you work in a hospital or clinic setting, be sure to follow your organization’s protocols for safety and readiness, including their protocols for Telehealth.
  • If you work in private practice, look into HIPAA Compliant Telehealth options to see clients remotely if you feel that Telehealth is within your scope and appropriate for your clients. If you take insurance, it will be important to check on reimbursement policies regarding Telehealth platforms. CAMFT has joined with other California provider groups asking Governor Newsom and the Department of Managed Health Care to remove all barrios to providing mental health services through Telehealth.
  • The Board of Behavioral Sciences recently released this COVID-19 Telehealth Statement, in response to therapists’ questions regarding the use of Telehealth at this time. CAMFT has also requested additional guidance on some scenarios not covered in the BBS statement above.
  • For a list of HIPAA Compliant Telehealth platforms and more information about HIPAA Compliance and Telehealth, you can read CAMFT’s article "Telehealth, HIPAA, and Compliant Telehealth Platforms."
  • CAMFT recently released a helpful Public Service Announcement that you can share with your clients: Tips for Reducing Anxiety and Stress During the COVID-19 Coronavirus Global Pandemic
